Preparing for NextGen CM/ECF

The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin is planning to upgrade to the Next Generation CM/ECF system (NextGen) in Spring 2019. There are two things that attorneys can do now to prepare for NextGen.

1) Does your office use a shared login and password for PACER? If so, each attorney needs to register for an individual PACER account. Attorneys will not be able to use shared PACER accounts once the court has upgraded. If you do not have an individual account, you can register for a PACER account at https://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/pscof/regWizard.jsf. Questions regarding individual PACER accounts should be directed to PACER at pacer@psc.uscourts.gov or by calling (800) 676-6856.

2) Is your PACER account upgraded? If you have an individual PACER account, but it was created prior to August 11, 2014, you must upgrade your account to enable it to work with NextGen. To upgrade your PACER account, login to PACER and click on Manage My Account. The Account Type should say "Upgraded PACER Account". If not, there will be a link to upgrade your account. Upgraded accounts will have user names that are at least 8 characters long.
