General Order Regarding COVID-19 Virus Public Emergency

Friday, March 13, 2020

In recognition of ongoing public health concerns involving the coronavirus (COVID-19), the court issued the following order on March 13, 2020 [LINK].  Among other things, the order postpones, until May 1, 2020, all jury trials, and cancels naturalization ceremonies and other public events scheduled at the courthouse during that same period.  The Eastern District of Wisconsin will continue to follow the developing public health situation.  Currently the courthouse is open and the public is encouraged to continue utilizing court services while following applicable public health guidelines. The court is taking action to do its part to suppress the spread of the virus, including use of social distancing, reducing live hearings, having employees telework, and fostering increased hygiene vigilance. But because the court provides an important public function, we will do our best to continue full court operations.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.
