The judges of the Eastern District of Wisconsin are pleased to announce that on Monday, September 8, 2025, Linda M. Klemm was sworn in as the new clerk of court for that district.
Chief Judge Pamela Pepper administered the oath in a ceremony attended by court staff and Klemm’s family. Chief Judge Pepper commented on Linda’s years of outstanding service to the court and expressed gratitude for her willingness to step into the role of clerk.
Klemm will report directly to Chief Judge Pepper and the other judges of the Eastern District. The Eastern District serves more than 3.4 million people in twenty-eight counties, and the clerk is the most senior non-judicial officer.
Klemm’s responsibilities will encompass a multitude of legal and administrative duties, from managing the court’s budget, information technology, space and facilities to overseeing the staff responsible for docketing and processing civil and criminal cases, jury services and courtroom operations. Klemm brings to the position thirty-five years of dedicated leadership experience in the clerk’s office, most recently as financial manager.
Linda is honored and excited about the opportunity to serve as clerk of court. She looks forward to bringing a strong sense of integrity, innovation and community focus to the office, ensuring that the public’s interaction with the clerk’s office is fair, accessible and respectful.
