The Clerk’s Office in Milwaukee and Green Bay will close at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. The court and the courthouse remain open normal business hours.

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29, 2024 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Byron B. Conway Sworn in as the District’s Newest Article III Judge
The Eastern District of Wisconsin is pleased to announce that that on November 8, 2024, U.S. District Court Judge Byron B. Conway was sworn in as the district’s newest Article III judge. His predecessor, Judge William C. Griesbach, administered the oath. Judge Conway fills the seat vacated in November 2019 when Judge Griesbach took senior status. Judge Griesbach will continue to serve the district as a senior judge. Judge Conway’s duty station—like Judge Griesbach’s—will be in the Green Bay Division of the Eastern District. Notice of Changes Proposed by the Eastern District Local Rules Committee - Criminal L.R. 13(b) and Civil L.R. 3(c)(2)(B)
The Local Rules Committee proposes the following amendment to Criminal L.R. 13(b) and Civil L.R. 3(c)(2)(B). The proposed amendment removes the service-on-the-judges requirement but adds the requirement that the motion must be filed “in each related case.” The proposed amendment also recommends deleting the requirement of sending the order issued on reassignment “to each of the judges.” Any comments should be submitted to Gina M.
