Each year, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin partners with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York to present a one-hour FREE CLE on the Pro bono Work to Empower and Represent Act of 2018, known as the POWER Act. The POWER Act is designed to promote “pro bono legal services as a critical way in which to empower survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and engage citizens in assisting those survivors.” Read more about the POWER Act here, and click the following links to see flyers from the 2025 Virtual Event and the 2024 Virtual Event.
The 2026 Virtual POWER Act event will be held on May 20, 2026 at 3:00 PM (CST). This program will be recorded and available to co-sponsoring courts on or about May 27, 2026.
