The memorandum below outlines the practices and procedures of the Successful Transition and Reentry Together (START) program of the Eastern District of Wisconsin. The START program is a prisoner reentry program for medium to high-risk offenders returning to Milwaukee County from federal incarceration.
Consistent with the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and other District Courts within the Circuit, and in order to permit more time with family and friends, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin will be closed on Monday, December 25, 2017 and Tuesday, December 26, 2017. The court will also be closed on Monday, January 1, 2018.
Free Internet access via a WiFi connection is now available to attorneys, other legal staff and the media within the Milwaukee office of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. All Milwaukee courtrooms have been outfitted with wireless access points. Those who wish to use this service should bring their own mobile devices with a built-in wireless network card or with an external wireless adapter that is 802.11 compatible. The wireless network supports all bands of 802.11, including the latest version 802.11AC.
Please note: the Court will be closed on Friday, November 10, 2017, in observance of the Veteran's Day holiday. The Court will also be closed November 23 and 24, 2017 in observance of Thanksgiving.
