Consistent with the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and other District
Courts within the Circuit, and in order to permit more time with family and friends, the United States
District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin will be closed on Thursday, November 24, and
Friday, November 25, 2016, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
POSITION CLOSED: The U.S. District Court in Eastern Wisconsin is accepting applications for a Clerk of Court. Applications due by January 6, 2017.

Effective December 1, 2016 (absent contrary Congressional action) Fed. R. Civ. P. 6(d) has been amended as follows:
(d) Additional Time After Certain Kinds of Service.
When a party may or must act within a specified time after being served and
service is made under Rule 5(b)(2)(C) (mail), (D) (leaving with the clerk), or (F)
(other means consented to), 3 days are added after the period would otherwise
expire under Rule 6(a).
Due November 23, 2016.

MILWAUKEE (August 15, 2016) - Federal Defender Services of Wisconsin, Inc. (FDSW) announced today the hiring of its new executive director, Craig W. Albee. Albee has been with FDSW for five years, previously serving as its senior trial lawyer. He has more than 25 years of experience in criminal defense.
