Pro Bono Fund
***This page is in the process of being updated. The Regulations Governing the Reimbursement of Expenses in Pro Bono Cases has been updated and can be found here.***
Under the Pro Bono Fund, the court will prepay or reimburse out-of-pocket expenses incurred by court-recruited lawyers, up to $5,000. Covered expenses are detailed in the Pro Bono Fund Plan Regulations and include expert fees, deposition and transcript costs, travel expenses, and witness fees. Recruited lawyers seeking prepayment or reimbursement of covered expenses must submit a completed Pro Bono Fund Prepayment/Reimbursement Form along with supporting documentation such as receipts or invoices directly to the judge assigned to the case. Requests should not be filed. Once the judge approves the request, the clerk will issue a check to the recruited lawyer.
