FREE CLE - 2026 Virtual POWER Act Event

The Eastern District of Wisconsin is co-sponsoring an informational, virtual session about the Pro bono Work to Empower and Represent Act of 2018, known as the POWER Act, which is designed to promote “pro bono legal services as a critical way in which to empower survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and engage citizens in assisting those survivors.” The event is intended for attorneys and is open to court and non-court attorneys. One CLE credit has been approved.

COMMENTS REGARDING: Reappointment of Bankruptcy Judge G. Michael Halfenger

United States Bankruptcy Judge G. Michael Halfenger of the Eastern District of
Wisconsin has applied to be reappointed by the United States Court of Appeals for the
Seventh Circuit to a new 14-year term when his current term expires on January 10, 2027. A
United States Bankruptcy Judge is a judicial officer of the United States District Court who
exercises the authority of the court with respect to any action, suit, or proceeding under
