Emergency Filing

This form is to notify the Clerk's Office that you have made an after-hours emergency filings. For example, a motion for a temporary restraining order in a pending Eastern District of Wisconsin case. Submitting this form is NOT a filing.

No other submissions will be responded to.

All documents must be electronically filed prior to submitting this form. This includes the filing of a complaint or other initiating document, along with the emergency motion.

This form is NOT for notifying the Clerk's Office of any documents related to state court cases where no related federal case is pending.

For filings made on regular business days between 8:30am and 4:30pm, contact the Clerk’s Office at 414-297-3372.

Decision and Order

This is an excessive force case involving allegations of a four-hour handcuffing that caused the plaintiff shoulder pain. The court found that the police officers may have violated the Fourth Amendment but that their actions did not violate any clearly established law and thus they were entitled to qualified immunity.
