Public Notice: Reappointment of Incumbent U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph

The current term of office of United States Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph in the Eastern District of Wisconsin is due to expire on November 14, 2018. The United States District Court is required by law to establish a panel of citizens to consider the reappointment of the magistrate judge to a new eight-year term.
The duties of the magistrate judge position include the following:

Holiday Closures: December 25-26, 2017 & January 1, 2018

Consistent with the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and other District Courts within the Circuit, and in order to permit more time with family and friends, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin will be closed on Monday, December 25, 2017 and Tuesday, December 26, 2017.  The court will also be closed on  Monday, January 1, 2018.

Wireless Internet Access

Free Internet access via a WiFi connection is now available to attorneys, other legal staff and the media within the Milwaukee office of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.  All Milwaukee courtrooms have been outfitted with wireless access points. Those who wish to use this service should bring their own mobile devices with a built-in wireless network card or with an external wireless adapter that is 802.11 compatible.   The wireless network supports all bands of 802.11, including the latest version 802.11AC.
